Install South Stars Forms on your iPad or iPhone

Why you must add it to your Home Screen

The app saves your drafts and any forms waiting to send on the device, so you can work without signal. Safari can clear saved data for websites that aren’t on your Home Screen, which could lose unsent forms. Adding the app to your Home Screen keeps that data safe and opens the app full-screen.

Steps (Safari)

  1. Open this site in Safari (not Chrome or another browser) and sign in.
  2. Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up). On iPad it’s at the top right; on iPhone it’s at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Leave the name as “South Stars” and tap Add.
  5. Close Safari and open South Stars from your Home Screen. Use it from there from now on.

First time you open it

  • Sign in while you have signal. The app then downloads your parks, assets and forms.
  • Allow camera access when asked — it’s used for photos.
  • You stay signed in, so you can complete forms without signal later.

Working without signal

  • Complete and submit forms as normal. They’re saved on the device and marked “waiting to send”.
  • iPads and iPhones don’t send in the background, so open the app when you’re back in signal. It sends automatically, or tap Sync now.
  • The bar at the top shows whether you’re online, how many forms are waiting and when it last synced.
  • Don’t sign out or delete the app while forms are waiting to send.
